Exercise with dedicated volunteers: A routine of exercises for working the whole body is the focus. All exercises can be modified to fit anyone’s level. The class also includes gentle aerobics and breath work.

Always wanted to play an instrument and not sure how to get started? Come to the EBC campus on Tuesdays for an all levels Ukulele class. The parts of the ukulele, strings, chords, are all taught through description and assistance. Volunteers, called chord callers, will verbally call out the cord ahead of time, as an accessible way of reading music. The class starts at a more beginner level allowing for everyone to play and warm up, and progresses to more challenging songs. Playing music has been known to develop dexterity, improve cognitive function, exercises the brain, enhances memory, and is simply FUN! Bring your voice and enthusiasm and join in the fun.

The EBC campus Labyrinth is accessible to walkers with white canes, guide dogs, wheelchairs or two people side by side. Walking for stress reduction, mindfulness meditation or enjoying the fresh air, it quiets the mind and opens the heart. New, Request a private facilitated walk.
For our hybrid gatherings, we use Tactile finger Labyrinths. Learning this new feeling technique, we practice together as a group with guided meditation.

Loving-kindness meditation, also known as Metta, is a gentle practice that helps quiet the inner critic, lift your mood, and increase empathy. Each session guides you through extending compassion to a loved one, yourself, a neutral person, someone you may find challenging, and ultimately to all beings, using the simple phrases: May you be safe, may you be happy, may you be healthy, may you live with ease. Open to all experience levels, this practice offers a calming space to relax, reconnect, and cultivate compassion.

Enjoy fun activities with your little one, ages 0-6, while learning strategies to support your child's visual, sensory, motor and concept development. Connect with other families who understand and share your experience raising a child who is blind, has low vision, or Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI). Weekly activities are designed to be accessible for all, and to build upon monthly themes that you can integrate into your family routines. All are welcome!

The Talking Books and Braille Center at the San Francisco Public Library is offering a series of Adaptive Chair Yoga classes with Nancy Yates at the TBBC or on Zoom. Stay cozy at home or come to the library. The classes will be held on Wednesdays March 19, April 16, May 21, June 18 and July 16 from 3:30 pm to 4:15 pm. Nancy Yates will be leading this gentle yoga class designed for people with low vision or blindness of all age groups and experience levels.

Departing from the LightHouse at 1155 Market Street, San Francisco at 9:30 AM sharp, we'll journey to this 550-acre organic ranch renowned for its award-winning extra virgin olive oils and sustainable farming practices. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of the picturesque estate, followed by a tasting session featuring their exquisite olive oils paired with fresh bread. The ranch offers a serene setting with rolling hills, natural ponds, and native wildlife, ensuring a relaxing experience for all. Accessibility is prioritized with golf cart shuttles for the tour. Always wanted to play an instrument and not sure how to get started? Come to the EBC campus on Tuesdays for an all levels Ukulele class. The parts of the ukulele, strings, chords, are all taught through description and assistance. Volunteers, called chord callers, will verbally call out the cord ahead of time, as an accessible way of reading music. The class starts at a more beginner level allowing for everyone to play and warm up, and progresses to more challenging songs. Playing music has been known to develop dexterity, improve cognitive function, exercises the brain, enhances memory, and is simply FUN! Bring your voice and enthusiasm and join in the fun.

Focused on navigating public spaces and digital environments, this session will break down your rights in clear, practical terms. Learn how to advocate for yourself, recognize when your rights are being violated, and take action with confidence.
The training will be led by Deepa Goraya, an attorney at McGuinness Law Group, PC, who is herself blind. McGuinness Law Group, based in Oakland, California, is dedicated to advancing disability rights through legal advocacy.  It represents people with disabilities in both California and Washington, D.C.
