SALARY RANGE:                           $101,500 – $130,500

JOB PURPOSE: 

The Director of Systems and Infrastructure is a key, full-time staff position at LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired (LightHouse) in San Francisco. The Director of Systems and Infrastructure reports to the Vice President of Information Systems and has responsibility for technology systems management, networking infrastructure, and technology vendor management for the entire organization, at the headquarters and all remote worksites.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education or equivalent:

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is desired.

Experience:  This role is expected to have at least five years’ experience in working within a technology-focused environment on systems operations, networking infrastructure management, and operational controls. Experience managing staff and strategy is encouraged. Documented experience as either an established director or a manager ready for career next step would be ideal.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to: Carry or transport 40 lbs; sit at a desk and perform computer-intensive work for long periods of time; operate standard office equipment; travel independently, including regular visits to satellite offices using own transportation.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage and maintain all the organization’s computer server systems both on premises and in the cloud.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues and/or respond to outages.
  • Interface with the organization to resolve service-related issues.
  • Manage, research, and resolve complex end-user escalation incidents.
  • Maintain reliability of systems and networks by monitoring, running tests, and troubleshooting.
  • Test and perform upgrades and patches to system-installed operating systems and software.
  • Monitor backups and plans for installed systems.
  • Develop and maintain recovery plans for every critical function.
  • Perform project management and oversight for all systems-related installations, builds, and migrations.
  • Develop plans, schedules, and requirements for deployment of systems.
  • Design and develop workflow and systems automations.
  • Monitor, maintain, and execute automation processes and procedures.
  • Build and provide information security systems to monitor threats, alerts, and security vulnerabilities for installed systems; implement response plan for various types of threats and attacks.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, consisting of processes, procedures, plans, and configurations.
