JOB PURPOSE:

The Development Analyst is a key, full-time staff position at LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired (LightHouse) in San Francisco. This position reports to the Vice President of Development. This person is responsible for all gifts processing following donations and grant awards made to the LightHouse. This position is also responsible for updating and maintaining the donor database. As needed and provide professional representation of the development departments to internal and external constituents, particularly high net worth individuals as well as consultants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education or Equivalent:

Bachelor’s degree from a college or university. Nonprofit certification is a plus.

Experience:  

Three or more years of work experience demonstrating a high level of organization, highly flexible and independent work ethic, and proven commitment to data fidelity. One or more years of experience in prospect research, donor database management, data import/export, and developing standard and custom reports preferred. Salesforce experience is a plus. Nonprofit experience is preferred. Project management experience

is a plus. Experience in a competitive integrated diverse environment is a plus. Experience with prospect research is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to work at 1155 Market Street, San Francisco for at least three days per work week. Must be able to sit at a desk and perform computer-intensive work for long periods of time, operate standard office equipment, and travel independently. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Experience with gift processing, posting, and reconciling with       
    finance, ideally in an environment with Salesforce.
Monitors cash and check logs and manually enters data into
    Salesforce weekly, linking donations to correct donor contact
Reviews monthly bank statements from Finance and enters EFT
    transactions into Salesforce, linking these transactions to the
    correct account
Records, gathers, and tracks donor updates in our CRM database
    (e.g., Salesforce).
Runs predefined Salesforce reports to confirm data integrity;
    provides development staff with essential gift reports and
    donation details as requested.
Sends donor acknowledgement letters in a timely manner.
Develops internal reports and presentations, as necessary.
Receives and processes incoming mail for the department,
    assembles back-up documentation, triages mail, and routes to
   appropriate team or department. Ensures this documentation is
   appropriately logged in CRM.
Maintains and coordinates a filing system for various projects,
    using database applications as applicable.
Provides professional representation of the office, exercising
    judgment and discretion regarding confidential issues and
    materials in responding to mail, telephone, electronic, and in-
    person inquiries, and addresses issues independently or by making
    referrals, as appropriate.
Serves as liaison and directly coordinates with the offices of
    prominent institutions and members of the LightHouse Community.
Liaison to print vendor for Development collateral (e.g., business
    cards, stationary, brochures); manages Development Dept
   inventory.
Schedules and coordinates internal and external development
    meetings, as needed. Handles meeting preparation and follow-up,
    including coordination of meeting agendas.
materials, conference rooms, and other related support. Also,
   assists in coordinating follow-up to development meetings and
   events, as needed.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (namely, Word and
    Excel); proficiency in mail merge is required.
Demonstrated organizational skills, namely time management and
   critical thinking skills, as well as attention to accuracy and detail to
   ensure data integrity and quality; deadline driven multitasker who
   has an ability to prioritize.
Experience training department members and others in the basic
   use of departmental tools (e.g., Salesforce, Qgiv) is preferred.
Interpersonal skills to work with colleagues across departments
   and constituents, namely Finance, Communications, and Programs.
Honesty, integrity, and a commitment to follow IRS Federal and
    California state rules and regulations, in adherence to the
     LightHouse mission.
Knowledge of the blindness community and/or affinity to the SF
    LightHouse mission
Proficient in sponsorship solicitation.
May perform other duties as assigned.
