SALARY RANGE: $23.78-$29.69

OVERVIEW
The Machine Operator at LightHouse Eco (LHE) is responsible for assisting in operating and maintaining machinery in our toilet tissue packet operation. This role involves ensuring that machines are set up correctly, running efficiently, and producing high-quality products. The Part Time Machine Operator will also be responsible for troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance where required, and adhering to all safety protocols. This position works in conjunction with the Tissue Production Manager to ensure production numbers and standards are achieved.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College graduate or equivalent experience (2-4 years of large machine/production equipment operation required)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with, forklift-certified, machine operating experience
- Proficiency in operating various types of machinery, understanding of machine mechanics, and ability to read technical manuals
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically to resolve issues quickly.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure work is completed safely and products meet quality standards.

- Performs duties as workload necessitates
- Maintains a positive and respectful attitude
- Communicates regularly with supervisor about Department issues
- Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize work load

- Meets Department productivity standards
- Familiarity with MS Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up, operate, and monitor machinery to produce products according to specifications and production schedules.
- In collaboration with tissue department staff, inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and make adjustments to the machine settings as necessary to maintain product quality.
- As needed, perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and making minor repairs. Report any major issues to the Tissue Operations Manager and/or maintenance/engineering team.
- As needed, diagnose and resolve machine malfunctions to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered during operation.
- Work closely and collaborate with other team members, including supervisors, maintenance/engineering staff, quality control personnel, and tissue department staff to ensure smooth production processes.
- Be an active part of the continuous improvement process and work with the Tissue Department Manager to suggest and implement improvements to machine operation and production processes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Willingness to perform other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in warehouse environment with exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures
- Frequently work in environment with water and chemicals
- Continually required to stand, walk, crouch, bend, sit, etc.
- Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 60 pounds
- Ability to safely and properly use a variety of tools and equipment.
- Sit/Stand at a desk and perform computer work as needed
- Must be able to independently travel to all LightHouse physical locations and events as needed.
